Newfoundland Hunting
Nestled on the edge of a lake, our hunting lodge is accessible by UTV via a logging road a two hour drive from Corner Brook, the main hub of our area. Although we can access the lodge using all terrain vehicles, we are very remote and in the heart of the Newfoundland wilderness. We are situated on the shore of South West Lake which stretches five miles, buffered by large stands of forested land. Above the trees are barren plateaus which are excellent Caribou hunting terrain. The area consists of a series of small ponds and open marshland as well which is ideal moose hunting habitat. The vast area of ageless, prime pristine wilderness is ideal black bear habitat. Often we will use our satellite hunting camp which is a comfortable three miles from the main hunting lodge. Our enthusiastic guides and all our staff will work with you to ensure you have a memorable experience. Bow hunters and rifle hunters alike enjoy the challenges and rewards hunting with NewFound Outfitting brings.

Accommodations
Southwest Lake is the home of our hunting lodge. The rustic and comfortable lodge has indoor washrooms, open living area, a large kitchen and dining area, two double bedrooms and a single bedroom. Many hunters enjoy sitting on the deck overlooking the lake and sharing stories of their days hunt. Delicious smells from the kitchen fill the air – our meals have a reputation all of their own! We are proud of our recent upgrade to solar power at this location. – at NewFound Outfitting, we do all we can to look after the environment in which we operate.

For the 2024 season, the rifle hunt opens on September 14th, and we take our first guests on the week starting September 15th. We operate our lodge straight through for six (6) weeks until the 26th of October. To offer a quality hunt and manage our local game, we only accommodate five (5) hunters per week.
We have a local butcher that will cut, vacuum pack and ship your meat to an area hopefully close to where you live (designated locations), we also have a local taxidermist cater to your needs when it comes to mounting animals or doing rugs. We have a large walk-in cooler at our lodge to keep your meat cool in case of warmer temperatures.
At your time of booking, we require a $1500 deposit to hold your week of choice, and the balance of your hunt paid by the 15th of August 2024. The deposit is non-refundable but can be used as a future credit if you need to cancel your hunt due to unforeseen circumstances. We operate on a first come, first serve basis and we provide a very personal and a high-quality hunting experience to our clients. As any good operator, we never guarantee a hunter that he or she will be successful in harvesting their animal of choice, however we can guarantee you a great hunting experience and fond memories that will last forever.
