Newfoundland Atlantic Salmon Fishing
Situated between the Lewis Hills and Blow-Me-Down Mountains, the Serpentine River runs down a 20-kilometre stretch of wilderness to the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Its course varies from swift runs to long placid pools. Fed from Serpentine Lake, this healthy river is one of the untamed wonders for Atlantic Salmon fishing and sea trout anglers. Overlooking this pristine river is our fishing lodge so you are only steps away from a great meal and a good night’s rest. Many experienced anglers believe that nothing in game fishing compares to the reel burning runs and acrobatic leaps of the Atlantic salmon. We offer our clients unmatched opportunity for tangling with the toughest and noblest game fish of them all. Tease a dry fly down a ripple or swing a wet fly over a deep lie, our expert guides will have you “reading the river” and fishing like a pro.

Accommodations
Pine Valley Lodge is nestled in the heart of the Serpentine River Valley area. Untouched country for miles in each direction, you feel the wilderness around you, not the crowding of traditional popular campsites or many easy access lodges. Wake up in the morning with the river running by your doorstep, and the local wildlife going about their daily business. The main lodge has a cozy and inviting sitting area where many a fish tale has been told. Here, delightful aromas from the kitchen fill the air.

There are two bedrooms each with private bath attached to the main lodge. And our new cottage is just steps away. Overlooking the majestic Appalachian Mountains, this cottage has 3 bedrooms, each with their own private bath. Our footprint on the environment is important to us at Newfound Outfitting. The recent solar power addition at this location enables you to hear the music of the river and enjoy the solitude our wilderness location offers.
Newfound Outfitting is known for its personal and hands on service to ensure you have a wonderful experience. Our lodge has hot and cold running water with all modern amenities. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable and topped off with home style meals, many say the perfect fishing lodge to recharge and relax. We boast a 90% client return rate year after year.
The Serpentine River is a relatively small river just 20 kilometers (14 Miles) long. Our lodge is situated approximately 2 kms (1.2 miles), down stream and when need be, we travel further down river for another 5 kms (3 miles). The falls is an easy 15-minute walk from where we dock our canoes. We have four 26-foot cedar canoes complete with motors which we use to travel up and down the river. From July to mid August, we accommodate a maximum of eight guests per week and provide guides at a rate of two guests to one guide. A typical day starts with breakfast being served at 7:00 am, we are usually on the water by 8:00 am, have a nice shore lunch and then return to the lodge at approximately 6:00 pm. Dinner is served at 7:00 pm. There may be time to fish after dinner around the lodge if a guest would like.
